What About a Conservative for President?

With all the candidates running for the Republican presidential nomination, this 2008 election season, the choices can be confusing. There are 5 candidates, 6 if you include the non-viable Ron Paul, to listen to, evaluate and decide upon. How do you make the decision? Are you looking for a candidate that will only beat Hillary Clinton no matter the cost, or are you looking for a candidate that will lead the Republican party back to the path of conservatism much like Ronald Reagan did in the 1980’s?

If it’s the former you seek then you can choose from most of the candidate available, again with the exception of Ron Paul. But if it’s the later you seek then the decision for the Republican nomination, must be based on conservative principles of limited government, free markets, individual liberty with personal responsibility, federalism, protection our national security and our traditional values and who is the most consistent in these areas. The presidential nominee must also be able to lead and to articulate the direction for a better United States.

I believe that Fred Thompson is the most conservative and consistent presidential nominee that Republicans can choose. In the following days I will expound on how Fred Thompson trumps the other Republican nominees in the biggest issues of this election:
